The mark of a modern, efficient delivery organization is the amount of information it can capture, manage and provide to its customers. RFID supply chain standards is enabling companies to identify, move & track goods in real time as they move from manufacturing floor to distribution center to retail store. Benefits include improved efficiency, increased visibility over the shipments flow, efficient handling and inventory management, increased security of distribution and speed of operations.
In a Warehouse or DC, RFIDs can be used to simplify the receiving and un-loading process. As products or cases are received, these goods are scanned with handheld or fixed readers & verified with invoice. The items to be stored are placed in a holding area, waiting for a forklift operator / manual picker to take them. The operator uses a bar code reader (Mobile Computer) and scans the item that is to be stored. He then places the item in the next available storage location and scans the bar code affixed to it. These two bar codes fields have now been linked in the reader’s memory & transferred to server (system) via WIFI connectivity on real - time basis. When items are to be picked, the host computer downloads a pick list into an operator’s mobile computer. The handheld’s display prompts the operator to go to a specific location. The operator then scans the symbol on the stored item; confirms that this is the correct item, and quantity. If not, an error message is given. Result is accurate shipping in terms of item & quantity.
Route planning & delivery can further be automated with unique identification of retail or logistics units throughout the supply chain process.

Megma Technology is being widely adopted by leading healthcare institutions to streamline operations and ensure positive patient identification. The increasing use of bar code wristbands (together with admission labels & systems) are enabling healthcare personnel to accurately capture & verify data for medication administration, point-of-care-testing, transfusion verification, specimen collection/tracking, and patient billing.
Below is summary on how Megma technology impacts healthcare: Once a patient presents for admission, our technology is utilized to generate or scan a patient ID cards. Barcode / RFID labels (including wristbands for patients), insurance forms, and face sheets are generated upon registration and contain a patient identifying Barcode / RFID. When orders are placed, the patient wristband is scanned to ensure that orders are entered for the correct patient and on the correct amount. Order requisitions are printed in various departments for the diagnostics test ordered. Medication Administration Records (MAR) is updated as meds are administered. Each item or med has an identifying Barcode / RFID so that patient & clinical matching/ tracking can be automated. Barcode / RFID are placed on charts, films, lab reports, and specimens to facilitate positive patient identification. As tests are performed, supplies are consumed (gauze, needles, dye, prep. materials). These items are scanned before utilizing them, thereby assisting in tracking of inventory and charge creation. MAR may also be updated again Barcode / RFIDs are placed on the remittance portion of the patient bill to increase accuracy when posting payments in the accounting department (and to facilitate release). Through the entire patient process, the ultimate goal is to provide quality healthcare to each patient and to administer the Right Patient, Right Drug, Right Dose, Right Time and Right Route of Administration.
